Inner / outer: The hinge course — inner discipline, but tested directly against outer consequence and other people.
Duration:Loading…
Format: Reading, exercise & a personal 1-to-1 tutorial
Overview
The practical and ethically weighted course — the first time you're asked to actually apply power rather than study a system, using the symbolic literacy built in Course 04. Right-Hand Path traditions generally frame the goal as union with the divine and dissolution of the separate self; Left-Hand Path traditions generally frame it as the deliberate strengthening of the individual self. Presenting both fairly, as a real polarity rather than a good-versus-bad split, is the point.
What this course covers
The RHP/LHP distinction itself, and why it's a genuine philosophical fork rather than a moral one; RHP ceremonial and devotional practice; the LHP tradition's more antinomian figures and ideas, treated seriously and without sensationalism; and the ethics of working with will and power deliberately, in relation to other people.
Suggested reading
Dion Fortune, Psychic Self-Defence and The Cosmic Doctrine (RHP)
Aleister Crowley, selections from Magick: Liber ABA — read critically, as a historically significant if controversial figure
A balanced secondary source contrasting RHP and LHP frameworks directly (to be sourced)
Topics of investigation
Is the RHP/LHP split a real structural difference, or a difference of emphasis within one underlying practice?
What ethical obligations does deliberate use of will and power create toward other people?
How does this course's material sit against everything studied so far — does it clarify or complicate the earlier courses' maps?
Practical Activity & Exercise
A structured exercise in directed will — a simple, ethically bounded working of your own choosing — followed by a written reflection specifically on the ethical dimension of what was done and why.
Who it's for
Students who've completed Course 04
The symbolic literacy built there is used directly here.
Anyone ready to apply power, not just study it
This is the curriculum's first course of deliberate practice rather than study alone.
Readers who want both sides presented fairly
RHP and LHP are treated as a genuine polarity, not a moral hierarchy.
